deano Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Hi, Has anybody successfully implemented internet client based management through SCCM 2012? I have a number of devices that will not be connected to the domain but will require certain applications deploying. We have SCCM 2012 in place so thought we could install the client using a FQDN address for the management point and then push the software out?
Blue_Cookeh Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 AFAIK you cannot use Internet-based management for software deployment unless those machines are domain joined, since the SCCM management point has to be able to authenticate the users to AD.
deano Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 From what i was reading, you cannot deploy software to users because of this but you can deploy to the device. This is providing that it is approved within the console?
FN-GM Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 I would VPN your users back to the domain using Direct Access. No need to fuss with SCCM and you get the added VPN benefits.
