titch Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Anyone know much about gpus and photoshop? I am toying between a gtx 550ti a 7700. Current photoshop rig is pretty good so no obvious upgrades other than gpu which is currently pants. I know photoshop doesn't use gpu hugely but for certain filter tasks I will get my money back in time saved easily. I don't do any gaming so its just for photoshop. I know I need to look for a card with decent opengl opencl capabilities but I can find benchmarks for low to midrange cards. Looking in the low end of gpus around £50 Any suggestions or advice? Ta
featured_spectre Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 6670 has plenty of GPU power for photoshop, comes in around £60. 1
titch Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Cheers very much Tempted with this 550ti for £50 though. Any positives and negs over amd vs nvdia for photoshop? had a look at 6670 and they come in at around £50 also. Or should I actually splurge out a bit more and go with the 7770 for an extra £20 . I like the fact i can get a fanless 6670 though.........decisions decisions
featured_spectre Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 nVidia cards draw more power, thats really the only downside for photoshopping. But if you dont see it as a downside, go nuts! lol
