iTalc - Key Creation

I have setup the first Master PC and setup a class of client PCs. If I want to create another master but have that access the class how can this be achieved as using the original keys doesn't work?

 

I've already looked through the FAQs and WIKI on the iTalc but their explanations haven't helped.

 

 

Any ideas guys?

IIRC you can point at a share containing the keys if need be. Does this not work?

Nope it doesn't seem to distinguish between a teachers machine and any other if you install the keys on the teachers machine I take it from the instructions that you would then need to go to each computer and modify the registry?

From the wiki at http://italc.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php?title=Customizing_paths_to_keys_and_config-files it suggests adding a registry key... this could be easily done in a logon script.

Right having read the WIKI I've finally managed to get the info through my rather thick skull and the teachers machines are now working. However I am still having problems with DEMO MODE I'm getting something along the lines of authentication failed for x.x.x.x trying to access this machine.

 

Anyone else have this problem and how did you get round it, if you did?

I think I may have an issue with Italc installation. It seems that when I install the master and take the key on a flash drive to another pc to install as the client, it cannot find the key.

 

When I look at the files on the usb drive, the key file has a program associated with it as MS Publisher instead of Italc. I think Italc pub files are being confused with the Publisher program that is on the computer. I have tried to associate the file with italc without success.

 

Any help would be appreciate.

Same problem I have "authentication failed blah blah", its incredibly complicated all these different keys. I simply think Italc has a bug with its uninstall process that doesnt delete the old key.

 

Best thing to do is do a manual uninstall on all machines and start from scratch. The keys can be viewed with notepad to check if they are the same.

 

I still cant get this working on more than 1 teacher console, even with the new version. A lack of a forum on italcs website is really holding this software back.
