JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Hi all. My problem is that I've downloaded a vmware RM CC3 image, the image is split between zip files. Do any of you know a way on how I can create a image out of 14 files. Or has anyone got a full RM CC3 image in one file?
JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 For those who don't understand what I mean. How would I extract all of those files into a VMWARE image in-order to set up my RM CC3 VMWARE image.
FireSoul Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 If its a multipart zip file if you just extract one they will all extract (if you see what I mean)
JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) It contains a tutorial on setting up the RM CC3. I've downloaded all the files from the description in the you-tube video. Just i'm having extreme difficulty in getting the VMWARE image. Edited December 22, 2013 by Dos_Box
plexer Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 So you've downloaded some RM software from a dodgy site and now you want help? Ben
JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) I don't understanding what you mean. The person who has made the download links to CC3 has his very own networking website. Besides I don't know where else to get a copy of RM CC3. RM have stopped selling CC3, I think they are only selling CC4? Edited December 22, 2013 by Dos_Box
Ephelyon Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Quoting from a post on said forum: "I have managed to get a copy of RM Auditor from my school as a family member works as the network administrator and was more than happy to give me the files." RM software is a licensed product! Having said that, it's true that CC3 is no longer being sold and (to my knowledge) the same goes for RM Auditor. Some companies do end up giving away or turning a blind eye to the technically illegal and unlicensed use of older versions of their software, to be fair. However, I still detect dodginess...
JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Ok thanks for the reply. Would you know any sites that sell CC3? Seems that RM are no longer selling CC3.
Ephelyon Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 While RM does use many reseller channels to distribute its products, as far as I'm aware none can continue to do so once RM themselves have withdrawn their own product. May I ask the reason for your particular interest in CC3, considering support for Windows XP will end in April?
JarredEvans Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 I don't really have a particular interest. But the reason why I'm wanting to get CC3 is basically to see how it all works, see what things admins can do, and to see what it's like to operate CC3 as an admin. I've always have been interest in computing networks and software's etc.
Ephelyon Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Perhaps you could ask the admins where you are? Edited December 22, 2013 by Ephelyon
JarredEvans Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 I have no admin. I'm not working for a network business schools, offices etc. I plan to use CC3 on vmware for home use only.
synaesthesia Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 It's not a home/consumer product. It never has been. If you "just want to see how it works" speak to RM who may be able to provide training for CC4. It works in a similar way to CC3 and does the same thing at the end but it's a supported product that uses supported operating systems. You won't get support for illegally obtained software through this forum.
