Backup Solution for Oracle 6.4

Hi!

 

I am leading the operational side of a start up and our cloud provider does not support OEL 6.4 in their current backup solution. They are telling me that there are no current solutions due to the very recent release of the software, but I have severe doubts.

 

Can anyone suggest a company or solution that can help? We cannot revert to an earlier version of OEL as this will severely hamper our scheduled roll out.

What backup solution are they using?

 

OEL is a Red Hat clone, 6.4 was out back in Feb so not that new (6.5 just released days ago).

 

Veeam etc all support is just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I am working to find out what they are using but they keep coming back to me stating that they cannot find a solution.

 

I am currently in the process of escalating this to the CEO (not sure how well that will work).

 

I was under the impression that 6.4 was not released until Oct 2013.

OEL 6.4 was released in Feb https://oss.oracle.com/pipermail/el-errata/2013-February/003307.html

 

If they won't budge, what other distributions do they support? I'd be surprised if they didn't support RHEL 6.4 or CentOS 6.4 which OEL is pretty much identical to (bar a different kernel if you're using UEK).
