randle Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I'm trying to import some Intel HD Family drivers into a repository to apply during OS deployment but there's limit on the driver package size that can be imported. The setup.exe installs accompanying Intel graphics management software along with it which is what appears to be bloating this installer. I just want the basic drivers but am struggling to find out exactly what essential files are needed so I can copy these out and import them on their own. I've not had this problem in the past so not sure why it's so large this time but surely there's a way to find out only essential files? I know I need the inf, cat & sys files but these don't appear to be enough. I'm guessing maybe a dll file or two!?
clareq Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Have you tried installing the drivers on a machine and then looking in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository? Sort by date modified and you should find your drivers.
randle Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Yes I have and this folder is still 364MB which is way too much. All files are still present within this folder.
randle Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 On further investigation it turns out that all files are needed so cannot strip any out however, it appears that there shouldn't be a restriction on the driver size when importing so this is being addressed instead.
