how to allow youtube in tmg

Hi all;

 

I'm trying to allow Youtube for selected users via Forefront Threat Management Gateway; TMG.

 

Users are able to browse Youtube successfully. However, no video could be shown "Video thumbnails are OK".

 

Please advise.

Hi,

 

Make sure you are also allowing *.googlevideo.com as this seems to be where the content for videos get streamed from.

 

If that doesn't help, try running a live query in TMG's Logs and Reports section. Filter the view by your own IP address and then browse to youtube.com and try to watch a video. You should see some blocked hits appear in red. What is the 'Rule' being shown for these hits?

 

You might find that you have allowed youtube.com, but you're blocking the Streaming Media category in a different Rule.
