We have a send connector on our Exchange server to relay emails which are generated by our MIS.

Once a week we send out a newsletter as an attachment (about 700kb) to all 2000 parents.

This seems to time out from the MIS and my exchange server is getting the blame. If an email without the attachemnt is sent to all 2000 recipients there isn't any issue.

Which logs or diagnostics should I be looking at on Exchange to check whether it is exchange that is causing the problem, or if it is the MIS itself?

smtp protocol logs for that connector, probably hitting a limit or tarpitting

Thanks @sukh . Are these limits that I can change or are they local resource availability limits? Is tarpitting a customizable feature in Exchange?

I'll check the logs and see what they show. Cheers
