Right click print on Win7 kills server spooler. This is getting really annoying.

When anyone tries to print photos using the right click print system it totally kills the spooler service on the server. This is only an issue on the Windows 7 laptops and works fine from XP.

 

I have tried to get the teachers to use an alternative software but they always forget, which then means nobody can print until I have reset the spooler which is not always straight away as I look after other primary schools.

 

I have searched google but other have said to update the drivers, which I have done. The odd thing is it does this printing to any printer including the main Ricoh.

 

PLEASE HELP as this is driving me nuts.

First port of call for any Windows 7 Printer quirks is to install the following hotfix's

 

Print job fails when the printer driver isolation feature is set to isolated or shared mode in Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2

Update rollup: Fix printing problems in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

Output is garbled when you print data or documents by using a service in Windows Vista, in Windows Server 2008, in Windows Server 2008 R2 or in Windows 7

Windows tries to create HTTP printer connections instead of Point and Print printer connections when scripting unsafe ActiveX controls is enabled in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

These fix 99% of all known bugs with Windows 7 print spooler...
