HodgeHi Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Hello, I received an email from bett for the 08 show and it reminded that i still need to track this down. I have tried before to no avail so i thought i would post to see if anyone else has had better look. I saw on the Steljes stand a smartboard with the projector on a boom extension with a slider mechanism which was really easy to move up and down which would prove quite useful in a primary school. Has anyone had any success with tracking down a supplier for schools of this product. PS when i enquired about it at their stands they did not have a product name for it apart from the 'uppy downy thing'. very technical. Hope someone can help as we wnat to put it forward as part of our bid for a new school being built for us.
danIT Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Try this link, i think Promethean have a similar product also: http://education.smarttech.com/ste/en-US/Classroom+solutions/Product+news+and+resources/SMART+Board+600i+series/ Sorry its a US link but should send you in the right direction. Edit: And there very good.
HodgeHi Posted September 7, 2007 Author Posted September 7, 2007 Is this the one where you use just your finger to move it up and down or about as much stress as that anyway. Because i see a lever on the left side when you view the accessories link.
outeast Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Go to: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-US/Products/Accessories/600iSeries.htm That is what they officially named the 'Height Adjustable Wall Mount' and it is available now through any SMART reseller. I saw one in New York City - it is pretty cool. This one (the SMART one) has no levers or 'clicking' to lock in place - the system is based on counterweights, and it glides and stops wherever you want along the track... you can move it with one finger, it is that smooth in it's motion...
HodgeHi Posted September 8, 2007 Author Posted September 8, 2007 Yeah thats the one i want or would like. Any idea on prices?
outeast Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 I think it is around $700 in the U.S. for the mounting system.
enjay Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 It's the Smartboard 680i you're thinking of. We're getting two of these put in today. Cost was something like £400 on top of the price for the regular 680. Your usual Smart supplier should be able to quote you, but they are fiercely understocked at the moment, due to huge delays on the release. Demand far outstrips supply at the moment.
