swiftysw1 Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Hi, I need to export data from Sims (With subjects) to import into Yellis; for testing. What is the best way to do it.. Thanks Si
DavidLong Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Hi, what exact data so you need to include on the report and in What format?
swiftysw1 Posted September 4, 2013 Author Posted September 4, 2013 Hi, here is the breakdown. Obv the first set is easy.. Just the option blocks..?? Thanks Again Si *Surname The surname by which the pupil is usually known. *Forename The first name by which the pupil is usually known. *Gender M or F *DOB dd/mm/yyyy *Yeargroup 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 SCN Scottish Candidate Number (if applicable) * UPN Unique Pupil Number MISID Up to 13 characters. Your internal ID/Reference for a student. Class Up to 6 characters. A form or class you wish to provide. Postcode Up to 8 characters (pupil's postcode) PreviousSchoolNo 7 digit integer (DCSF/DENI no.) * PreviousSchoolName Where available this will be the name of the pupil's previous school * If you are registering as part of an Education Authority, you must provide this SCN and Previous School Number information if you wish to receive Pips P7 or InCas P7 to AfE SOSCA S2 Value added reports (as applicable). For Yellis (Year 10 and 11) cohorts only Option1 to Option20 For each pupil, list each GCSE subject option title in a separate column named Option1 through to a maximum of Option20. These can be represented in two different ways: a) each Option column contains a single subject choice for a pupil. In the example below notice that the column Option1 indicates that both pupils are taking the subject "English Lang" whereas Option2 contains different subject choices for each pupil. OR b) each Option column has a column header indicating the subject and each pupil has an indicator (Y in example below, anything other than blank cell will do) in that column if they are taking that particular subject. Columns Option1 to Option20 are optional, but we strongly recommend that these GCSE subject choices are included in the file, as they determine the selection of GCSE predictions that are included in your Yellis feedback.
DavidLong Posted September 4, 2013 Posted September 4, 2013 Hi, You can get this information out using the general student list under reports -> student list -> general student list. If you need help configuring this report let me know and I will send you my contact details.
swiftysw1 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 Hi, Thanks for that but It will only only allow me to extract the Basic Details... Ideally I need the student option groups.. Thanks Si
DavidLong Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Hi you can get the option information through this. On the right hand side of the screen where the column options are there are 2 drop down boxes at the top. Change the top one of these to academic and the second one of these to block subjects. 1
swiftysw1 Posted September 5, 2013 Author Posted September 5, 2013 Thank you... Only field which was missing is the Prev School number.. Any idea? Or is it nor really needed?? Thanks
DavidLong Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 If your just registering as a stand alone school and not as part of a group within the authority then this is probably not needed. If you do needed it the the closest you can get is the previous school name from which you will have to do a find and replace in excel to substitute them with the school number. Regards David 1
