Just rolled out a suite of newly imaged Windows 7 PCs with Office 2010 and discovered that when users log in the file associations for the Office apps are borked.

 

They are okay for administrator.

 

Apparently it's a known issue and Microsoft's answer is to repair Office?!?!

 

Found a nice reg fix that repaired all the 60-odd associations, but it would have been nice not to have lost a couple of hours over it today :(

 

Has anyone else experienced this little gem of goodness?

 

A neighbouring PC suite is unaffected. Same image, just slighty different spec PC and install date.

 

I hate Microsoft.
