Trying to make registry change for user without admin access

Hi,

In order to prevent the Microsoft Office welcome screen appear every time a student starts up Word, we need to set the following registry key. When they click on the welcome screen, the system doesn't save their settings.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Common\General

Dword (32-bit) Name: ShownOptIn value: 00000001

The problem is, that because of the GPO, our student accounts have no access to the C drive, and no way to run regedit.

Can anyone tell me how to set a registry account for another user while logged in as a local, or network administrator?

Anyone have an alternative?

Many thanks indeed!
