newpersn Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 How can i get a catalog saved on to the network? It wont create or open an catalog that's on the network share or mapped drive, Has anyone got a way round this?
dayzd Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I don't think there is one. It is my understanding that Lightroom simply isn't built to use network locations for it's catalog. If it spots when you've got a mapped drive (I know the Mac version doesn't like network mounts), then you're probably stuck. Unless it can be tricked by an NTFS hard link or junction. However I would imagine that trying anything along these lines would have a good handful of other complications...
naysweb Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 We had to write a program to make a local copy from the Home Drive the start light room then when light room close the program copied the users light room folder back to there home drive. Works for us, as we wanted students to move around if needed as there have 2 art/photo rooms and a study area to work in using light room.
