IKWeb Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Hi All I am looking for a good set of Cordless digital phones (2 handsets) which I will be using in the office, Range needs to be good, as well as quality, and the most to me important is the battery life / standby. I have purchased many phones in the past and found that after 2 - 3 months of use the batteries go flat after half a day off the base unit. I am not in need of a answer machine. Anyway based on the above I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.... Thanks in advance. IKWeb
GREED Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I have some BT DECT phones that are excellent in all ways yiu described. BT GRAPHITE 2500
CyberNerd Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 There is a good chance these will interfere with your wireless network if you have one.
CyberNerd Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Most phones run on 2.4Ghz and just because you don't notice doesn't necessarily mean it's not causing a problem. Of course it's fine if the phone is 5Ghz or vice versa.
GREED Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 No I mean I did some substantial testing in my last work in these phones, I had a pedantic colleague who was like that. We used some quite nifty monitoring software and there was no recorded loss of signal strength or throughput as a result of using these phones.
CyberNerd Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Are you seriously telling me that a 2.4GHz telephone causes absolutely no effect on a 2.4GHz wifi network ? Unless they are DECT, 5GHz or VoIP phones they will interfere with a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
GREED Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Ummmmmmm... They are DECT... If you see the original post?
CyberNerd Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Ummmmmmm... They are DECT... If you see the original post? lol. Clearly not. In that case they don't run at 2.4GHz at all !
GREED Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 lol. Clearly not. In that case they don't run at 2.4GHz at all ! good that you know your stuff though, indeed they would interfere.
Arthur Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Unless they are DECT, 5GHz or VoIP phones they will interfere with a 2.4GHz WiFi network. What happens when you have a DECT smartphone with WiFi? e.g. Panasonic KX-PRX120.
