I would like to suggest that it might be worth looking at this feature and seeing if it can link more recent posts I think, I get the feeling its why some very old threads get Necroed, often when you post, you can see this just under the reply button linking posts going back to 2009 and before and its clear people don't read the dates of the threads.

 

and yes I know necroing threads is a bit of a bugbear of mine !
