Problem with second sysprep

Morning,

 

We have a windows 8 machine (32bit Windows 8 pro) that has been syspreped and captured using WDS. This all works fine.

 

Now I have added some new software to the build, taken it off the domain and completed all of the windows updates.

 

There problem is when i run the systep.cmd (from the c: drive which uses an unattend.xml file) it will no longer work. The sysprep window pops up briefly then closes but doesnt shutdown..

 

This used to work on windows 7 when we could re sysprep a machine. Am I missing something on Windows 8?

 

Any help would be great.

I had this problem and found the solution is not to update any apps.

I put up a brief blog about it as it was stressing me out.

Thanks for this. We have a script that runs during sysprep that removes the very useful built in apps. Looks like I need to rethink how we do this.
