synaesthesia Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 This one is a month old. It's a warrant replacement for an identical machine that did exactly the same. It took them a month to replace it.
synaesthesia Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Well Xerox, if my call is important to you WHY DO YOU KEEP HANGING UP! >:|
sparky2488 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Its the drum maintenance cam solenoid not sitting properly..... used to be common on the Tektronix Phaser 340 but not on the newer kit badged as Xerox. If you get no joy drop me a message, I used to work for them in Second Level support and as a field engineer, i can put you in touch with the right person to get this sorted.
synaesthesia Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Engineer came out today despite me demanded they replace it as we're not waiting another month for a final solution like the last one. Lo and behold, he's replacing the motor & various solenoids. They're not a patch on the 8860's which have been absolutely bulletproof.

Even the 8860's were bad compared to the old Tektronix kit..... gone are the days of all the engineers carrying their own stock and managing customers properly. I remember a DOA decision came from us in the field, we had the best service in Europe then the mighty X decided they wanted the Phaser technology and bought us purely to kill the name. Sent you a name behind the scenes to try if you get no joy. 1
