edutech4schools Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Hi, I have just noticed some of my primary schools have IPv6 either disabled or set to obtain address automatically. Not a great issue as internally everything is working fine on the old IPv4 but I think it is time for me to understand IPv6 and setup an IPv6 dhcp scope on the servers. My first hurdles are in the adapter protocol properties page, -how do I choose a static IPv6 for the server -Should the subnet length be /64 or something else -how do I workout the IPv6 gateway address which is LA controlled. Sorry for what I would assume are very basic settings but I have never needed to touch IPv6.
