Mr_Jiminy Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I'm trying and failing to get 2 Broadcom NetExtreme Gigabit Ethernet cards to team up. I keep getting a message which reads: The teaming driver is not currently installed. I'm following the BACS using the wizard mode, getting right to the end prior to it applying the team. I have what I think are the latest drivers from the Broadcom site. Has anyone got any clues? Does the NetExtreme even support teaming? I was under the impression it does.
tmcd35 Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I've teamed those cards before and they usually work very well. The teaming driver is an optional/advanced install when installing the BACS software if I remember rightly. The BACS software manages the teaming. I've had a similar problem to you once though, and that was with Server 2012. Turns out there is no supported version of BACS for 2012. But it also turns out that it's not needed as 2012 can team any combination of network cards natively - no additional drivers or official support needed, finally!
Mr_Jiminy Posted May 13, 2013 Author Posted May 13, 2013 All good, removed/ reinstalled BACS... Working! Yes good news re 2012, it makes perfect sense it become natively supported.
