Different google image search pages - classic and new look. How to get to new one?

Sorry, my post title is a bit rubbish.

We have all our students on a mandatory profile but somehow some students do an image search and get the old style interface while others get the new one?

I can't work out what they are doing.

Is there a url to force the more modern interface for everyone?
