Folder Permissions

Hi,

 

I don't know if this is possible - I am trying to make a shared folder on HAP that works as a drop off point for files. I want it so students can only write to this area, not read, edit or delete files.

 

I got it working to a certain degree within windows where a user could not see any files in a folder but he could write too it - There are a few issues with this though as they can still overwrite files and HAP dose not register them as having write permissions.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There's a hidden feature of My Files called Homework, (homework.aspx) which may be what you want.

EDIT: Unfortunately I can't get the Homework.aspx to function how I need it too, but thanks for the help

 

I'll have another crack at the folder permissions.

When ever I remove anything like delete permissions I lose all options to upload and or edit files. Is there a work around I could use to keep these options available even if some of the commands did not function as they do not have correct permissions.

Should be fixed in v9 with the new NTFS permissions, instead of read/write checks, you can for not disable readwrite checks in the HAPConfig.xml

Perfect!!!!! (Is V9 out yet I can't find a upgrade for it but I keep seeing a new version is available every time i log on!)

The new version message should be gone now, I've removed the preview build that was available deep on the codeplex site.

 

v9 is due out this weekend, was hoping for today, but I need to check with Paul if there is anything left to do
