IT_Man_Dan Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Afternoon, I'm just about to deploy Chrome via GPO. I've downloaded the msi and setup a new GPO etc. I've also downloaded the templates to enable me to configure it. I'm just going through and have got to the bit where you can specify that they can only login to certain Google accounts 'Restrict which users are allowed to sign in to use Chrome'. I plan to set this and only allow users to sign in to their Google Apps account they have here at the school. So assuming my domain was mydomain.co.uk would I just enable the gpo setting and put %username%@mydomain.co.uk or do I just put mydomain.co.uk? or do I put something else? Is there any other settings that I should definitely set that I might have missed? Thanks
sonofsanta Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Google Chrome GPO settings: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/105190-installing-google-chrome-network-2.html#post906329 As for the domain, use *@domain.co.uk - it won't restrict to the single username, but I'm not sure if that would work anyway (Chrome uses weird environmental variables anyway) 1

CyberNerd Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 These are the configurable settings in GAPPS. Policy Refresh Rate Locally applied Policy Refresh Rate The number of minutes between client policy refreshes. 30 - 1440 minutes Google Sync Locally applied Google Sync Administrators can no longer use this policy to disable Google Sync. Instead, the Google Chrome Sync service should be turned on or off on the service list page. In addition, this policy will be removed entirely after March 1st, 2013, so please ensure that your Google Chrome Sync service is correctly enabled or disabled for each organization unit by that date, as that service will then become the only mechanism to enable or disable Google Chrome Sync for your users.
