sbolton Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Hi All, could anyone please recommend me some software which I could run on the 2008 r2 server and it would install the software across the network, and also remove software across the network?
SYNACK Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) You can just use AD group policy to install properly packaged software, we do that here and it does a good job, you also have SCCM http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/server-cloud/system-center/configuration-manager-2012.aspx which can automate practaclly everything but is huge or wpkg http://wpkg.org/. Hedghog Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Hi, Depends on wether you have the MSIs or not. If you have the MSI group policies do a very handy job of deploying software. If not there are several 3d party solutions about and I'm sure someone who uses one will appear soon.
free780 Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Pdq deploy is good if you don't want to take on the monster that is sccm. As long as you can script/silent install a installation pdq can do it. Install shield and msis are generally easy.
