Microsoft RDWeb/RemoteApps on Mac and iOS

Hiya guys and gals,

 

I've tried searching but couldn't find anything relating to this. Apologies if this is already known.

 

The vast majority of 'BYOD' here at the school are apple, either OSx or iOS. The vanilla RDWeb offering from MS does not natively support these devices which is bit of a problem for us. However, we have found a nice fast piece of software that makes it happen - Remote Spark. It's HTML5 and If i'm honest, I think it's faster than going in via the stock MS route. On top of this, the support is great (you get to speak to the one of the developers which is always handy).

 

The software is here and available for a trial period at Remote Spark. We are drawing close to the end of our testing phase so will be purchasing in the next few days. If money was no issue, i'd have this as the only method of accessing RDWeb (for windows clients too).

 

Hopefully that's helped somebody is the same situation...

Thanks a lot for contacting us. The license fee for Spark View is $24 per concurrent rdp session per year or $4800 per concurrent gateway instance per year (Unlimited users). Price includes free support and updates. We'be been trying to keep the price as low as possible, so we don't have any discount for now, sorry for that.

This looks like what we are after too but on trying to access it here it is blocked and trying to add it as an exception;

 

"The keyword you are trying to Allow forms a HTTP URL that is categorised in a category that is Blocked by LGfL or your Local Authority"
