apc ups stupidity

anyone know how to stop a newer (i.e. has pointless lcd screen) from turning itself off as part of the server shutdown sequence as the server im on takes longer to turn off than its giving it and the raid controller isnt happy (powers an issue they have the road dug up atm fixing it)

What model is it? What management does it have on the back?

its just a std smart ups 1500 plugged in via usb

 

 

i managed to sort of sort it in now waits long enough but if the countdown hasnt finished and its now set to 30 mins it will send shutdown signal to server again lol

I don't quite get what you mean?

if i run the test shutdown it now completes in time but the ups display continues to count down to 30 mins then the ups turns itself off. if while its still counting down you restart the server it boots up and the ups sends it the shutdown signal again

It will do unless the power has been restored AFAIK so that the server cannot not shutdown gracefully If I understand you correctly.
