Young Rewired State - Any mentors here?

So I've just found out about the Young Rewired State campaign to get kids programming. More specifically, I've just found out about their summer festival. So I wondered, has anyone here mentored at one of these events? What kind of things did you have to do?

 

I'd like to volunteer but don't know if I have the necessary expertise...

Well I've applied to be a mentor. Don't know if I have the expertise they're looking for but it sounds like a great project that I'd like to be a part of

Halfway in to the week mentoring and I have to say it's been great fun so far.

 

I highly recommend volunteering as a mentor next year to anyone who is up for challenging some young minds whilst simultaneously learning from the up and coming developers of the world - I don't think I've learnt this much from a group of teenagers in my life!

Anybody in the Midlands who is interested in learning a bit more, myself and some of our youngsters will be on Midlands Today tonight to talk about YRS - though I've not seen it yet so I may well have missed all the important points since I'm extremely shy in front of a camera!

Just finished for another year, we managed to get one of our teams in the finals for Best in Show Sadly they didn't win, but we're still incredibly proud of them to have placed top 3 overall in a nationwide competition with hundreds of participants, and they were all given a limited edition blue Raspberry Pi for their efforts
