Kyle Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I am wondering how schools record attendance or register pupils in after school clubs. We see this as a safeguarding issue and would like to record in Sims? Any advice please?
vikpaw Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 You could use a marksheet - not very effective. Use the alternative curriculum stuff, i think that works well. Or a partner CHQ i think has dedicated software for that.
Kyle Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Alternative curriculum will do that fine. How does this work? I have gone to add this via T6 and it will only seem to add an option that is on as the same time as one of out other periods? We have 5 periods a day but i want to be able to register a after school period.
Greg Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Search for Alternative curriculum on the Capita Support home page and you'll find the user guide and training guide. That should give you what you need
Timetable Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 We added a twilight period but didnt want it to affect the timetabling process... So we added an extra period to the day, Then set its type as User 1. This stopped the automated scheduling from placing lessons in these sessions. Then added a new subject, i.e table tennis club Went to alternative curriculum, added a new one with tt as the subject. We then de-selected all the lessons apart from the afterschool session, assigned a room and teacher and then uploaded the timetable to sims. Then we just assigned the lesson indiviually to the students by slecting there student curriculum then adding activity. Works fine. If you need more advice just message.
