Admiral208 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi everyone. How do I remove drivers from the management console? I want to update a wireless driver, ive added it to the RMMC but after I rebuild the laptop, it still picks up the old driver. When I right click on the old driver, delete is greyed out. Many Thanks James
X-13 Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I would just make a build image with the specific drivers for that machine. It's a lot less faffing about. [i've had to do this many times.]
ajs Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 That would only work for drivers needed to get the build started. Once the OS is installed, it scans the database and pulls down drivers that it matches to the various hardware IDs. In the RMMC, what is listed under the Origin column for the driver in question?
clareq Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Take a note of the version number of the old driver. It's greyed out because it was added as part of an RM driver pack. Make sure that the new driver you are adding to console has a higher version number - it should then take preference.
