Good or bad? I say largely good as the emphasis is on practical programming and there is no proscribed language. My only fear is the default programming language will become VB when there are whole swag of "better" languages available. I wonder exactly what "Fact-digesting" is?

Probably what 100% of the ICT GCSE is right now - "regurgitate exactly the phrases you have had drilled in to you for the last three months without necessarily comprehending the statements you are making". Hopefully they've added a bit more allowance for context and understanding - I know that until very recently, kids lost marks for using the word Excel instead of spreadsheet, even though to most people they are synonymous and using either shows that you know what you're talking about.
