Windows Essentials 2012 (Windows Movie Maker etc) no longer available

Just a heads up, Microsoft have removed the download links for Windows Essential 2012 (Windows Movie maker, Photo Gallery, etc)

 

The applications will continue to work if you already have them installed, but it would suggest downloading the offline installer whilst they are still available if you need it for future use.

I've just noticed that the offline installer from the Majorgeeks website is a really old version (v14.0.8117.416) of Windows Live Essentials 2009.

 

WinHelpOnline has the latest version (v16.4.3528.331) of the Windows Essentials 2012 offline installer.

I downloaded it again today and the checksums I posted above still match so I would say yes.

 

You could also verify the digital signature by going to the properties of the EXE.
