Exchange2010 to O365 - Cutover Migration

I'm still testing our migration options from Exchange 2010 to O365.

 

I've opted for a cutover migration which seems the easiest to do so during the summer i'll say to say that no one is to check emails after a certain period.

 

I thought i'd have a go at testing part of the cutover but it seems MS doesnt like me to do that. The first hurdle i came across was cutover migration was greyed out when i went to setup the migration batch. It turns out, O365/Azure doesn't accept an inplace AAD domain that's already in sync, so i had to disable the directorysync between us and MS - this took a few hours to do but it meant that i was able to select cutover migration - The sync is now enabled.

 

Now with a migration batch created and sync is turned back on, migration is telling me that it will sync (move mail from exchange 2010 to O365) all 140 mailboxes over to O365. I don't want to do this just yet, i want to test with a few accounts to make sure i've got things right.

 

So the question is, does anyone know if im able to choose specific mailboxes that i want to sync across with cutover migration.

*Brainwave* I think i may have thought of another way - use the credentials of a test user when editing the migration endpoint, then this user only has access to the mailbox. I'm not sure if this is going to work though.
