How to install SIMS on Windows Server 2008 R2?

Hello, I recently upgraded our server to Windows Server 2008 R2. I would like to create a NEW blank database for SIMS. I ran SIMSINST v1.21.3.0 and when it was just installing MSDE 2000 it said that it was incompatible with the operating system and that it needed to be run on Windows NT 4.0, Xp or 98. Is there a different version of Microsoft SQL that is freely available and compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 and SIMSINST v1.21.3.0. If so, how would I create a database for SIMSINST or will it do it for me? And (sorry, I have a lot of requests) what is the default login for SIMS once everything is installed?

I think the issue here is with running simsinst ? I felt certain that was phased out and you now had to run plain old infrastructure setup ? could be wrong, in any case you need either sql express or full blown sql (recommended).

speak to capita re: the passwords etc I know them but not sure I should post them here.

Your SIMSINST is out of date and you wouldn't want to create a new blank SIMS database.
