Thought I'd post this up on here for anyone else who searches for this issue and can't figure out what's going on.
If you make a change to your xcache configuration, specifically changing the xcache.size variable then, when you restart apache you may find yourself facing a heap of errors:
The problem appears to be the file created at xcache.mmap_path and to resolve everything you need to delete this (or edit the variable for xcache.mmap_path) before restarting apache again.Code:PHP Fatal error: xc_fcntl_lock failed errno:9
Hard to be sure exactly what happens but that cured things for me so thought I'd pass it along.
... as a follow on from that...
Check that your xcache.size and/or xcache.var_size config settings are under your memory limit setting for apache or you'll get errors like this:
It's obvious when you actually think about it but figured I'd share the #doh momentCode:PHP Fatal error: XCache: Cannot create shm in Unknown on line 0 /tmp/xcache: Cannot allocate memory Failed creating file mapping
