split66 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 We have migrated to windows 7 and have noticed that the background colour in Sims .net has changed from pale blue to white. Users have started to complain about struggling to pick out various data fields and eye strain after a short period of time. Capita support says this is by design for Windows 7. Just wondered if anyone else had come across this or found a work around.
creese Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 They are right, it is designed like that. I've not had much experience with SIMS on 7 so I'm not aware of a 'fix'. I'll be watching with interest.
creese Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 A bit of a shot in the dark.... but would it be linked to W7 Personalize and Themes etc.?
split66 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Creese - thanks for the suggestion. We have played around with personalization and themes but it's still white ........
creese Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I've found some info. Change the Windows theme to Classic. and/or Make sure Aero effect is off
split66 Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 Looks like we have found a compromise. On desktop, right click and personalize (as per creese's post). Then towards the bottom of the screen where it shows your selected theme items, click window colour, then advanced appearance settings. On the item drop down list select 3d objects, Click on colour 1 and then play around with the custom colour palette for a while, applying and checking back in Sims .net. You may also have to change Inactive title bar to the same custom colour. Happy mixing
Easy_506 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Just wanted to add, finding this after a quick google search was incredibly amusing as we're having exactly the same situation as the original poster. I'm guessing Capita may add further customisation functionality in a future update. Personally i don't see anything wrong with having a white background instead of the pale blue.
