computer_expert Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I've got a strange issue with my HTC wildfire (standard HTC 2.2.1 f/w) where it will try to connect to my home network, but fails. It has worked fine up until now, but now it just gets it self stuck in a loop (connecting to network > authenticating to network > obtaining IP from network > disconnected). All other devices work fine (ipods, laptops and games consoles). I have tried two different brands of router/WAPs (netgear dg834gv5 and some ancient belkin) with varying levels of security from unsecured networks to WPA and WPA/WPA2 secured networks. Wifi channels have been changed without success. I've even reset the spare DG834Gv5 i have to it's default settings without any luck. Is there anything else I can try before sending it for repair? Thanks for reading c_e
jinnantonnixx Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 have you tried deleting the stored connection entry? 1
computer_expert Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 have you tried deleting the stored connection entry? Is the when you hit forget in the connection properties? If it is, then I've already tried that without success. Thanks for the reply.
SHimmer45 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 delete the entry on the phone and remove the DHCP entry on your router at home 1
computer_expert Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 I've just done that, but still no luck though. Thanks for the suggestion. Next step is a factory reset. Lets hope that works.
computer_expert Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 The factory restore seems to have done the trick for now. Thanks for all the responses
