Our printer has a fault indicating that 'One or more covers on the printer are open' although none of the covers actually are. Suspect its a sensor problem. Does anyone have a manual (not user but technical one) or know where all the Cover sensors are located in a HP Business Inkjet 1000?

Thanks

Suspect its a sensor problem.

The sensor will be somewhere aound the cover area, probably hidden away in a small recess that has a sticking-out bit of plastic attached to the lid that presses the sensor when the lid closes. I've had a similar issue with an HP Business Inkjet printer in the past, we nenver did manage to fix it. If the sticking-out bit of plastic has been broken off (look for rough bits of plastic on the lid where something might have been broken off) then you could glue on a replacement, but if the actual sensor has gone then it's probably cheaper / quicker / easier to simply get a new printer. Was the Business Inkjet 1000 cartridge-compatiable with later models? If so, those often turn up on eBay for around £50 and are generally a good bargin.
