I need to set up a trust between the admin and curric servers for sims in classroom project. I have squashed the network into a single IP address range (admin/sims server one) and would like to know does anyone have a guide on how to set up the trust relationship etc, do I also need to allow zone transfers in DNS?

No, Having a Server 2003 and Server 2008 Servers won't cause it to not work.

Could having the domain function level on the 2008R2 domain set to 2008R2 cause a problem with the 2k3 server?

 

a simply way of doing it would be just to setup on the admin network a generic user say sims and in the login script do something like net use S: \\server\share /user:admin\sims password

Yes, I thought i added that in. Make sure your Domain Fuction Level on the S008 Server is not Raised to Server 2008/ R2
