Help for my home access please. I keep getting 'Unidentified Network - No Internet Access' on my Win7 machine. My XP is okay.

After using the netbook all night and day, when I boot up the next day I get the error.

Sometimes if I reboot the modem and wifi it works.

Please help!!!!

You need to set your network type to "Home" this will relax your security settings and prevent your internet access troubles. Also if you are manually setting your IP settings make sure you have a default gateway specified or you will also the the unidentified network error.

Try disabling all the adaptors then re enabling the wireless NIC.

Also if you have iTunes installed try disabling the services it has running at startup, I've known such things as the Bonjour service from apple cause issues like this.

It's set as WPA2-Personal.

Have been having this problem myself last week. This fixed it for me....

Have a look in services for something like ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762# # try setting it to disabled or delayed start and then restart.

have you enabled windows homegroup for sharing

I did this and had problems you described got rid of homegroup and it was fine

I'll give that a try.

I found that advice somewhere else. I couldn't find that service though.

You may well have solved the problem. Looking back it was probably around the time I was setting the network/Homegroup that it started.

I'll see what happens tomorrow evening.

Looks like this was the winner.

I was home briefly last night and managed to get online with no problems. Thanks
