SpuffMonkey Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Thinking of getting my head around 2008 & w7 - can anyone recommend a good book on these? I was quite keen on Mark Minasi's stuff, as its a bit easier to digest - dunno what his latest are like? Cheers
leco Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I've just got his Mastering 2008, seems pretty good so far.
danrhodes Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 I've just got his Mastering 2008, seems pretty good so far. I have the same book, also the MS Press books are usually good I had the 2k3 ones. D
bio Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 check here : Microsoft Learning: Windows Server Training Portal bio..
timbo343 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I have got the mastering server 2003 and mastering exchange 2003 and they are very good books, and just looked at the 2008 R2 and started reading the first chapter and looks like i might buy it. I did stray off the "mastering" books for exchange 2007 and got some random book. In my opinion it was a waste of money and so looking at going back to the "mastering" books.
john Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I find the Mark Minasi books are good, the MS Press ones are usually ok but I am finding more and more that I get two copies of books tbh, one MS Press and the other from someone else as they seem to fill in the gaps / confusion points between them rather well.
MatthewL Posted May 12, 2010 Posted May 12, 2010 I bought a MS book, Windows Server 2008 Administrators Companion great book, there for when it is needed. The MS books are good I find, got a few in my collection now.
