chazzy2501 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Who's doing their SQL 2008 Migration for SIMS today? it's PD day here at Beaminster School, and I'm working my way through the manual. So far so good..
gybe78 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Already done ours. Was pretty straight forward really.
chazzy2501 Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 I'm allowing time for any foul ups! Already had a teacher ask whys SIMS wasn't working! (I'M ANGRY) I sent an email a fortnight ago to SMT! I'm supposed to feel guilty because they can't do their precious reports! - Yeah I'll revert the upgrade half way, so I don't inconvienence 1 teacher whos leaving their reports to the very last second! BAH!
tsky Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Upgrading at half term - well, the county are as they look after our admin side (I say look after, upgrade at the last minute causing us problems after the weekend usually). New server, new SQL, new SIMS . You just *KNOW* it's all going to go wrong
tech_guy Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 We did ours in the Easter break - we migrated our databases to a new SQL box at the same time. Everything went well and is working well. Thanks as well due to Dan at WStore for sourcing a really good server deal for us. 1
