Guest Guest Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Im just setting up our new 2008 domain ready for summer and have noticed something strange. When you enter a redirection location without the "Also apply redirection policy to Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 operating systems" box ticked the location becomes "\\server\shared\%username%\Documents" When you enter the location with the box ticked you get "\\server\shared\%username%\My Documents" Has anyone got any experiance of this? Obviously its alot easier if its just "Documents" but I dont want to go down this road if its going to break things, plus in the future in order to add a new redirection mapping for a new yeargroup I will have to remember to untick the box, enter the path, then retick the box.... znova Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Wasn't My documents the default with these OS? Vista on in became Documents? So, the danger is if you leave the box unticked that Win XP users might be saving docs in 2 locations because they automatically choose My Documents on the desktop/menu bar. Maybe I'm talking too obvious here?
