Anyone know of a powerpoint remote that does not have a laser? We have a blind teacher that would like to control her slideshows from afar. I have a feeling that having a laser as part of the package would make the device a bit too tempting for the little urchins. Every single one I have come across seems to have a laser built in, even though I found one a couple of weeks which has now been discontinued!

Superglue some electrical tape over the laser? I've done similar things in the past to stop the laser being abused .. All the ones I've come across have the laser point built in ..

Although having just said that, I Googled Presentation Mouse, as I've seen a couple of them about with the Geo-Move so you can use it mid air, and came across this:

Kensington SlimBlade Presenter Mouse - Mouse - Wireless - RF

Anyway ..

I thought about that & may end up doing it but was trying to save the world & our pocket a bit. Had assumed non laser mice would be cheaper!

I could go with a mouse but she really wanted a remote so she didn't have to worry about any other functions. Just forward, back & end show.

Curse these slow fingers!

If she has a mobile, there are various bits of software that use bluetooth to control presentations. (You could probably use an old PDA if one is handy, too).

In that case, Presentation Remote + Super Glue + Tape = Solution .. lol ..

Well my original idea was a student and give her a long pointed stick. But thanks to aptproductions I remembered Google product search and have found a Targus one for £11!! Ta all.

You're worried about having the laser temptation, but you want to give them something sharp? lol .. :)
