File Archiving and/or Document Management

Can anyone recommend a software package with a nice easy GUI front end that staff and pupils could use to archive their older documents to? I've got Sharepoint but it's not exactly what I want anything with quotas and integration into Active Directory?

Found a few promising ones but not exactly what I want don't mind if it's commercial or open source sharepoint certainly can do it but not the way I want it done if that makes sense?
