Hi all!

Could someone put me out of my misery please and tell me what I am missing with this damn problem.

We have a Dell laptop connected up to an Epson projector which was working fine earlier in the morning (because I went up to test it) but has now stopped displaying any image. All that appears on the Screen is:

Not Supported

H: 48.35KHz V: 31.70KHz

I've tried a different cable on the laptop but it has the same problem, but another laptop works fine so it's obviously something wrong with this laptop.

Have tried changing the resolution, colour depth and increasing the refresh rate but had no luck.

And other ideas?

Thanks!

My experience with this particular issue was down to the cable loom that went to the projector. It was a powered one (ie. it had a powered signal booster module built into it), and some laptops just would not work with it. The install length was only 4m anyway, so I replaced the thing with an unpowered one and it worked fine.

Tried a standard VGA lead I had lying around in the spare laptop bag I took up, which worked fine on the spare laptop but still has the same problem of Not Supported on the laptop that is normally connected to it. :( Edited by Cache

I hate computers some times.

So after a mad day, I final got to have another look at the laptop, tried plugging straight into a normal monitor today and it still won't display a picture externally.

Should I now assume that it's the card/port on the laptop or am I still missing something?

Thanks for the replies. :)

I did try updating the driver yesterday but that made no difference.

It's not that long ago since I did reimage it. I'll see if I can wrestle it back and try it again.

Had an identical laptop which was very rarely used with a projector at the time so swapped the hard drives over and that was fine so was definately a Laptop Hardware issue.
