Netwacky87 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Afternoon All...and what a lovely day it is!!! I need some help/advice with a PVR setup im trying to achieve ive got a 2TB HP Media Server sitting in my house really just serving videos/music etc, i have a USB TV Card sitting there doing nothing so i thought ill attach that to it, Now does anybody know of any software that will record TV (Freeview) but using a web browser as an interface? Just the HP Server has no display output etc so its gotta be web based. Ta Muchly! and enjoy the sunshine at last!!! Mart
sted Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 might be easier to use media centre and output it to an xbox 360
Netwacky87 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 Sadly, my mistake, the OS is Home Server so sadly media centre is a no go and yeah i intend to steam the recorded stuff to a PS3!
sted Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 cant you just share the file out then and point the ps3 at the network share then?
Netwacky87 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 I think your misunderstanding, what im after is a solution to record tv programs, at the moment i have no files to share lol
waldronm2000 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I use some software at home called SnapStream Beyond TV. I don't access it via a web interface, but I think it has that capability. http://www.snapstream.com/products/beyondtv/ 1
Netwacky87 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Posted April 8, 2010 That looks exactly what i need! well i hope!! Thanks for that!
waldronm2000 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 No problem. Only trouble I've found with it is I've never got the online programme guide to work. I suspect it only has US TV channels. But that's not a problem, as I just use the manual setting option, very much like programming an old VCR (date, time, channel, auto repeat). Also, I haven't got whatever hardware would be needed to get the software to change channels on the Freeview box, but this can be programmed separately on the box itself.
