Reaper Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 I've made a bit of a mistake with our SAN it seems. We had a volume on our HP MSA2312 SAN called SAN_Storage which was linked to Server1 with LUN 0, this has had various amounts of data on it for ages. I made a second connection to the same volume with Server2 with LUN 1, on Server2 I could see all the data that had been put on there by Server1, however we moved a folder to the volume from Server2 and it has since disappeared :S The weird thing is that we see that 20gb (size of the file) is now gone from the free space of the SAN drive when viewed through Server2 but Server1 still reports it as having that extra free space. I was told when the SAN was installed that the use of LUN differs from other SANs. So the question is, how the hell do I get this folder to reappear!?!?! Thanks guys
DMcCoy Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Are the two servers using a cluster filesystem or running as an MS cluster?
Reaper Posted April 1, 2010 Author Posted April 1, 2010 They aren't running as a cluster at all which I have just been told is the problem as neither of the OS' can then make a file lock which will potentially lead to corruption. We're running a check disk on the volume now, hoping it will do something.
