cbeeching Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 So a projector wasn't working yesturday (Hitachi ED-X8250).. The lamp indicator was showing red, so I tried a bulb change, turned it back on, and all seemed fine. 15 mins later i've a knock at my door with a message that the projectors down again. So I went back tried the good old power on and off again, and it came back to life. Didn't hear anything all day so assumed it was fixed. But apparently it had gone off again, though I wasn't told until this morning, right before the teacher needed it again..! So I don't know whats wrong with it, it seems to be running quite hot, so i'm not sure if it's overheating, and disabling itself , because it always seems to happen after 10-15mins. I've tried 2 new bulbs, and the one that was in there initially - when the image is there it looks fine, so i'm thinking it's not an issue with the bulb. On referring to the manual it seems to point to air filter clogged, air passage clogged? I can't see any clogging. I've tried turning up the fan speed as well, but same result. After it has turned itself off I get a steady red light on LAMP and POWER, but the TEMP light is unlit. This carries on, and the projector won't come back on again until I turn it off from the mains, and on again. Then when it does come on, the image is fine, until 15 mins-ish later, it powers down and the 2 red light come back. Any ideas?
tinmanjo Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 try reseting Lamp hours to 0, this gets a bit of extra juice out of DP's, but im not sure if this is on your model, ours are panasonic and sanyo etc..
cbeeching Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 Yeah i've tried reseting both timers for the filter and lamp, plus i've cleaned the filter. Did a factory reset on the projector itself too.. I wonder if dust might have got clogged up inside, and is perhaps making it overheat? I just can't see that it's the lamp, when the projector will operate for 10-15 mins on each power reset. Even if it has just been on. Thanks!
laserblazer Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Did you ever resolve this? Just had one do the same here. I've tried everything the OP did.
