LosOjos Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Has anybody else had this error in SIMS Spring census? Error 2510 - For pupils no longer on roll the attendance sessions possible is missing or invalid It only happens (for me anyway) with students who were put on roll on the first day and taken off the same day because they never attended and were found to be at other schools. It may also be worth noting that the first day was an inset day for us so they weren't expected in anyway. It appears to be a bug, whereby rather than SIMS reporting the number of possible sessions as 0, it returns a blank thus causing this error. Has anybody else had this problem? How did you go about fixing it?

LosOjos Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 (edited) Mega Necrobump. Getting the same error today, how did you fix it? The issue was that the day they were put on roll was a training day, therefore they had zero possible attendance sessions. The 'fix' was to either roll back their leaving date to the previous term (previous day in this case!) or if they were a Y7, either take them off roll on a normal day and put attendance as 'C', or delete them from the system. I opted for deleting them so as not to skew our attendance, but I use the admissions module to keep a log of where I've done this in case it's ever queried. EDIT: should have mentioned, deleting students does not delete their admissions record if you put them on roll via that. Don't know why this is the case (it seems it should do!) but it's handy in this case Edited January 7, 2015 by LosOjos 1
CAM Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Rolled his date back and it didn't work. Checked last term, turns out this kid has legit 0 possible sessions for the census period.

In that case I'd say you have to submit your census with the error and just put a note on COLLECT explaining that (or contact your LA if you submit to them, they'll be able to put the note on COLLECT for you)
CAM Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 LA just fixed it. Attendance last term didn't matter in the end as the census is looking at 1st Sept onwards. Because the student had one day at school with zero possible attendance sessions it had retained his attendance even though the DOL was set back to before the start of term as the incorrect record was still there. LA support unit removed the DOL then set him as a leaver again to before the new academic year to remove the rogue attendance entries. There's an answer to your post 5 years on.
