Tony_Mc Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Hi guys One of the office staff (finance), well her printer has been made unusable, time for a new mono laser. Recently I have been buying HP kit in terms of big network printers. This time i want something smaller that has good cost per page. I got stung earlier this year with the 2015d as i bought two and both went back for "essential repairs and upgrades" I only want something fairly small but at least up on the commercial scale, that is able to do a nice clean job on cheques and envelops. anyone with a good model? Thanks Tony
elsiegee40 Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 We have a little Samsung ML1250 in use here that has been soldiering on for years with no end of hard use. It never seems to run out of Toner! I don't know if the more recent versions are as good.

Michael Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I personally use a HP Laserjet P2015 (similar to Mandy's) and it's never let me down.
RabbieBurns Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I know you said mono, but I got a couple of Xerox phaser 6111n colour laswe printers, and with the free extra black toner, and the sub £100 price, have been great. http://www.printerbase.co.uk/acatalog/xerox_6110.php?pos=top
Sylv3r Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 We have no luck with the Samsungs we have had in the past - 2250's and 1610's. They seem to eat the toner pretty quickly!
bossman Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 HP2015n here, very good, toner costs minimal. Just do the job!!
danrhodes Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 We gernally go for HP2015n's as their cheap and reliable, well untill the last few weeks they were. We have had 2 break down and had to be sent back to HP for repair. Other than those we use HP3005n and HP 1312MFP for single user. But this printer also has a fault. HP know about it but continue to sell it. We got one for our Maths Dept, Installed it, they liked it and used it for weeks, then decided rather than walk down stairs to do their copying in Repographics they would just use the Copy Button on the printer. OOPS nope its disabled and there is no where to enable it on the in build menu. Rang HP, they had the same problem with the exact same printer in their office. Sent it back, it came back today working as normal, with the additional menu for enabling and disabling copying lol. Dan
danrhodes Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Yep their cheap as well and Toners last also if you splash out and get the 53X version. Im fed up of typing "Dan" at the end of my post so im abreviating it to "D". D
Tony_Mc Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 OK will go for the HP, nervous though as the problems I had before. Thakns for all your help guys Tony
danrhodes Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Im sure you will be more than happy with your new pruchase! D
